INVITATION

We would like to extend an invitation to you to participate in the upcoming 10th Workshop on the Physics and Technology of Semiconductor Lasers, which is scheduled to take place in Sopot, Poland from 13th to 18th October 2024.

Our Workshop is a biennial event, and our goal is to bring together individuals interested in both the physics and technology of semiconductor lasers. The conference's scope encompasses various topics, including edge-emitting laser diodes, especially AlInGaN devices, VCSELs (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers), VECSELs (Vertical-External-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers), PCSELs (Photonic Crystal Surface-Emitting Lasers), DFB (Distributed Feedback) lasers, DBR (Distributed Bragg Reflector), all types of Quantum Cascade lasers, disk lasers, and more.

Throughout its many years of history, this meeting has served as a platform for fostering connections and facilitating the exchange of information among individuals from Europe, Asia, and the United States.

The event will also feature an industrial exposition, showcasing the offerings of companies serving the photonic and semiconductor markets. The Workshop will take place at the renowned resort of Sopot, situated on the Polish Baltic coast between Gdansk and Gdynia. It offers convenient access to the Lech Walesa International Airport in Gdansk.

The Haffner Hotel will host the workshop, providing comfortable accommodations and excellent facilities for conference participants and exhibitors alike.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Sopot is a seaside town of the Baltic Sea in northern Poland. It lies between the larger cities of Gdańsk (to the south-east) and Gdynia (to the north), the three towns together making up the metropolitan agglomeration called Trójmiasto (Tri-City).
Sopot is a major health-spa and tourist resort destination. It has the longest wooden pier in Europe, at 515.5 meters, stretching out into the Bay of Gdańsk.

Haffner Hotel is a perfect place for meetings and conferences situated in a great location by the beach.
